Should you wish to renew your loan, please contact your lender in advance. Most lenders will charge the same rate of interest and fees for another month on the entire amount owed. A loan renewal/extension could be automatic and further interest and/or charges may be added to your account in the event of non-payment
Implications of Non-Payment
If you are unable to pay on time for whatever reason, every lender has their own policies with regards to interest and fees, and how they collect the outstanding debt. Most will contact you by phone or letter/email in order to rearrange your payment. Non-payment may result in raised interest and/or charges. We suggest contacting your lender as soon as you are aware there is a problem, as otherwise, it may be noted on your credit record. All charges and fee’s are layed out in the lenders terms and conditions that you should read before accepting the agreement. Do not take out a payday loan if you do not think you will be able to pay it back on time.
Please contact your lender immediately if you are unable to make your repayment on time. Lenders may charge a late payment fee which could range between ￡10 – ￡100 (dependant on loan size). This will vary from lender to lender. For more information please read the terms and conditions of your loan agreement before agreeing to it.
Please contact the lender directly if you’re having problems making a payment, so that they can discuss your payment options. If you don’t resolve the situation, the lender may reserve the right to pass your details onto a third party collections agency.
Credit Reference Agencies
Should you continue to fail to pay back your payday loan, credit reference agencies will record the outstanding debt which may have a negative imact on your credit score. These Records remain for upto 6 years. On the other hand paying back your loan in full, on time, may positively impact your credit score.
